The God of Carnage (translated from Le Dieu du Carnage) is the seventh work from French playwright Yasmina Reza. Carnage follows two sets of parents as they meet to discuss a fight between their sons in a public park. They have agreed to speak in a cordial manner but while the afternoon wears on, the veneer of civility thins and the adults become increasingly childish themselves we watch the high minded discussion give way to chaos and mayhem.

This play has seen award-winning productions around the world including the two English translations by Christopher Hampton each enjoying acclaim in London (The Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy, 2009) and New York (Tony Awards for Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Play, 2009).
